Traditional riad in Marrakech

Carved plaster, zellige and painted ceilings: a riad photographed in its evening light.

A riad reveals itself from the inside: everything is arranged around the patio, with its pool, arches and lanterns. This one has kept a very rich traditional decor: chiselled plaster, zellige, painted and carved wood.

The challenge with a riad is light: tall rooms and strong contrast between the patio and the bedrooms. We blended several exposures to keep both the lit lanterns and the detail of the walls.

The patio and the pool

The patio is photographed in the evening, lanterns on and pool lit, to capture the mood guests will find. Centred framing respects the symmetry of the arches.

Bedrooms and corridors

Each bedroom is shot to show the bed, the painted wooden ceiling and the openings onto the patio. These are the images travellers look at first on Airbnb or Booking, and the ones that make the difference for a guesthouse.
